Operation Sindoor lent new confidence to fight against terrorism across the world: PM Modi in Mann Ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed the valour of the armed forces during Operation Sindoor, saying that their decisive action against terrorism has inspired renewed global confidence and momentum in the fight against terror.

Addressing the 122nd edition of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi said, “Today, the entire country stands united against terrorism, filled with anger and resolve. The valour displayed by our forces during Operation Sindoor has made every Indian proud. This operation has boosted the global fight against terrorism with new confidence and enthusiasm.”

He further described Operation Sindoor as a symbol of the nation’s resolve, courage, and transformation. “Operation Sindoor is not just a military mission; it is a reflection of our resolve, bravery, and the spirit of a transforming India. This operation has infused the entire nation with patriotism and painted the country in the hues of the tricolour,” the Prime Minister said.

He also mentioned the Tiranga Yatras held in various parts of the country following the operation: “In cities, villages, and towns across the country, Tiranga Yatras were organised. Thousands of citizens came out holding the tricolour to pay tribute and express gratitude to our armed forces.”

“In many cities, a large number of youth volunteered as Civil Defence Volunteers. Videos from Chandigarh went viral; poems were composed and songs of resolve were sung. Children created paintings carrying powerful messages,” he added.

PM Modi shared that many families have decided to name their newborns after Operation Sindoor. “The operation has touched the hearts of people so deeply that in places like Katihar in Bihar, Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, and many other cities, children born during this time have been named ‘Sindoor’,” he said.

Emphasising the success of indigenous defence technology used in the mission, he noted: “Our soldiers destroyed terrorist bases with immense courage, aided by weapons, equipment, and technology made in India.”

He further stated that Operation Sindoor has re-energised the Vocal for Local movement. “A parent said, ‘From now on, we will only buy toys made in India for our children. Patriotism should begin in childhood,’” the Prime Minister shared.

He added, “Some families have pledged to spend their next vacation in a beautiful part of India. Many youngsters have vowed to marry within the country. Someone even said, ‘From now on, every gift we give will be handcrafted by Indian artisans.’”

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, demonstrated a well-coordinated tri-services operation marked by precision, professionalism, and purpose.
