The third all-party delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi departed on Thursday for a five-nation tour aimed at building international pressure on Pakistan over its support for terrorism.
The delegation will visit Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain to further India’s outreach campaign, which seeks to expose Pakistan’s complicity in harboring terror networks and to consolidate global consensus against cross-border terrorism.
This is the latest in a series of coordinated international visits by Indian lawmakers across party lines. Two other delegations had earlier left for separate multi-nation tours, including Japan and the United Arab Emirates, as part of India’s strategic engagement plan that covers 33 countries in total between May 21 and June 5.
The first delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, reached Tokyo on Thursday. It includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha member John Barittas, and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid. Their itinerary includes visits to South Korea (May 24), Singapore (May 27), Indonesia (May 28), and Malaysia (May 31).
Meanwhile, the second group, headed by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, is currently in the UAE and will also travel to Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone. The delegation comprises BJP leaders Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra, along with BJD MP Sasmit Patra, IUML’s E.T. Mohammed Basheer, BJP’s S.S. Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.
In total, seven delegations featuring 59 Members of Parliament, former ministers, and diplomats have been tasked with strengthening India’s narrative on the international stage. The Operation Sindoor outreach is designed to counter Pakistan’s propaganda and rally global support in isolating state-sponsored terrorism.
The outreach underscores India’s firm stance on zero tolerance for terrorism and its renewed commitment to pursuing justice beyond borders through coordinated global diplomacy.
