During his stay in Accra, the Prime Minister will hold talks to deepen bilateral ties in investment, energy, health, security and capacity building. He will also address the Parliament of Ghana, describing it as an honour for two vibrant democracies.

The next stop will be Trinidad & Tobago on July 3-4. Recalling the deep-rooted people-to-people ties, the Prime Minister said, “I will meet President Christine Carla Kangaloo, who was the Chief Guest at this year’s Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who has recently assumed office for the second term.” He said that Indians first arrived in Trinidad and Tobago 180 years ago and the visit aims to rejuvenate the special bonds of ancestry and kinship.

From Port of Spain, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Buenos Aires for the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Argentina in nearly six decades. Describing Argentina as “a key economic partner in Latin America and a close collaborator in the G20,” he said his discussions with President Javier Milei will focus on agriculture, critical minerals, energy, trade, tourism, technology and investment.

The Prime Minister will then attend the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6-7. Highlighting India’s commitment to the forum, he said, “As a founding member, India is committed to BRICS as a vital platform for cooperation among emerging economies. Together, we strive for a more peaceful, equitable, just, democratic and balanced multipolar world order.” He will also hold bilateral meetings with other world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

On July 8, PM Modi will pay a state visit to Brasilia for bilateral talks with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. India and Brazil will review trade ties, currently valued at $12.2 billion, and aim to push the target to $20 billion.

The final leg of the tour will take the Prime Minister to Namibia, which he called “a trusted partner with whom we share a common history of struggle against colonialism.” He will meet President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to chart a new roadmap for cooperation and address the Joint Session of the Namibian Parliament.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the visits would “reinforce our bonds of friendship across the Global South, strengthen our partnerships on both sides of the Atlantic, and deepen engagements in the multilateral platforms such as BRICS, the African Union, ECOWAS and the CARICOM.”
