Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday for the second leg of his five-nation tour, where he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Piarco International Airport.
The Prime Minister was received by his counterpart, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who was joined by 38 ministers and four parliamentarians.
In a gesture seen as a mark of respect for Indian culture, Persad-Bissessar welcomed PM Modi wearing traditional Indian attire.
During his two-day visit, PM Modi will hold talks with President Christine Carla Kangaloo and Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar.
The Prime Minister is also expected to address a joint sitting of Trinidad and Tobago’s Parliament.
