Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 60th anniversary celebrations of Maldives’ independence as the Guest of Honour during his visit to Male on July 26. This historic event marks the first time an Indian Prime Minister has attended Maldives’ Independence Day celebrations and the first instance of President Mohammed Muizzu hosting a foreign leader at the level of Head of State or Government.
