RAN SAMWAD Tri-Service seminar

CDS releases joint doctrines for Special Forces, airborne operations

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday released two key doctrinal publications — the Joint Doctrine for Special Forces Operations and the Joint Doctrine for Airborne & Heliborne Operations — at the RAN SAMWAD Tri-Service seminar held at the Army War College here.

The event was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, and Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

Formulated under the aegis of the Doctrine Directorate, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff with active participation from the Army, Navy and Air Force, the doctrines lay down guiding principles, operational concepts and interoperability frameworks for Special Forces missions and airborne operations.

General Chauhan lauded the Services for their professionalism and adaptability, saying the doctrines would serve as pivotal references for planners, commanders and operators in the evolving battlespace.

Officials said the release marks a significant step in strengthening joint operational capability, enhancing synergy across the Services and ensuring readiness to meet emerging security challenges.
