Over 700 personnel from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff are set to participate in Exercise Bright Star 2025, a multilateral tri-service drill hosted by Egypt in partnership with the United States. The exercise will run from August 28 to September 10.
First conducted in 1980, Bright Star is one of the largest tri-service multilateral exercises in the region, drawing participants from across the globe. The exercise is held biennially.
According to the Ministry of Defence, this year’s edition will feature a wide range of activities including live-firing demonstrations by all three services to showcase combat capabilities, a Command Post Exercise (CPX) aimed at sharpening joint planning and operational coordination, small training drills on modern warfare skillsets, and Subject Matter Expert (SME) interactions to promote knowledge-sharing on contemporary military operations.
“Participation of the Indian Armed Forces in this exercise underscores India’s commitment to regional peace, stability, and security while enhancing Jointness, interoperability and cooperation with friendly foreign countries,” the ministry said in a statement.
