FASTag annual pass crosses 5 lakh users in four days of launch

The FASTag Annual Pass facility has crossed five lakh users within just four days of its launch, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways announced on Monday.

Launched on August 15, the annual pass offers commuters “a seamless and economical travel option” across 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways. The pass eliminates the need for frequent recharges by allowing users to pay a one-time fee of ₹3,000, valid for one year or 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first.

According to the ministry, Tamil Nadu recorded the highest number of annual pass purchases, followed by Karnataka and Haryana. In terms of toll transactions, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh led the tally.

The ministry also highlighted the surge in popularity of its Rajmargyatra app, which enables commuters to purchase the pass. The app has risen to #23 overall on Google Play Store and #2 in the travel category, with over 1.5 million downloads and a 4.5-star rating. It has also emerged as the top-ranking government app just days after the pass was rolled out.
