The 7th round of the India-Australia Dialogue on Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Export Control was held in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including nuclear, chemical and biological disarmament and non-proliferation, outer space security, conventional weapons, the role of artificial intelligence in the military domain, and multilateral export control regimes.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the dialogue enabled both sides to exchange views on global and regional developments, enhance mutual understanding of national perspectives, and strengthen cooperation in these domains. Officials said the engagement will contribute to advancing the India–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Indian delegation was led by Muanpuii Saiawi, Joint Secretary (Disarmament and International Security Affairs) in the Ministry of External Affairs, while the Australian side was headed by Vanessa Wood, Ambassador for Arms Control and Counter-Proliferation in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
