Jaishankar urges closer government-industry cooperation at India-Singapore ministerial talks in Delhi

India and Singapore held the third round of their Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) in New Delhi on Wednesday, exploring ways to further expand bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also included discussions with the India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR) delegation.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar praised the Singaporean ministers for their commitment to deepening bilateral ties. He said cooperation between government and industry is key to the next phase of relations.

“Delighted to attend the 3rd India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable in New Delhi. Thank DPM Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister K. Shanmugam, FM Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Digital Minister Josephine Teo, Minister for Manpower Dr. Tan See Leng, and Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow for their commitment to strengthen our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” Jaishankar said in a post on X.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Railways, IT and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also attended the meeting.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ISMR aims to set a new agenda for India-Singapore ties. Its first round was held in New Delhi in September 2022, and the second in Singapore in August 2024.
