In response, Macron shared a post on X, saying, “I have just spoken with Prime Minister @NarendraModi. We coordinated our positions on the war in Ukraine in order to move towards a just and lasting peace, with strong guarantees for Ukraine and Europe’s security.”

The French President also highlighted the follow-up to the AI Action Summit held in Paris in February, where Prime Minister Modi participated. Both leaders agreed to work towards the success of the AI Impact Summit scheduled in New Delhi in 2026, while coordinating ahead of France’s G7 presidency and India’s BRICS presidency in the same year.

During the conversation, they also discussed bilateral cooperation in trade, defence, civil nuclear energy, and innovation. The leaders recalled their decision to mark 2026 as the “India–France Year of Innovation,” with a formal inauguration planned in New Delhi.
