PM Modi begins two-nation tour to Japan and China

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Japan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to attend the 15th Annual Summit.

During the visit, both sides will work on shaping the next phase of the Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Discussions will focus on expanding economic and investment ties and advancing cooperation in new and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and semiconductors. The visit will also provide an opportunity to strengthen cultural and civilizational bonds between the two countries.

From Japan, the Prime Minister will travel to Tianjin, China, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. India has been an active and constructive member of the SCO. Under India’s Presidency, new initiatives in innovation, health, and cultural exchanges have been taken forward.

On the sidelines of the Summit, Prime Minister Modi is expected to meet President Xi Jinping, President Vladimir Putin, and other world leaders.

The Prime Minister said he is confident that his visits to Japan and China will further advance India’s national priorities and contribute to regional and global peace, security, and sustainable development.
