Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended greetings to the nation on Raksha Bandhan, a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote in Hindi, “सभी देशवासियों को रक्षाबंधन की अनेकानेक शुभकामनाएं।”
He also shared his message in English, saying, “Best wishes on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”
Raksha Bandhan, one of India’s most beloved festivals, symbolises the deep affection and protective bond between siblings.
On this day, sisters tie a sacred thread or ‘rakhi’ on their brothers’ wrists, praying for their well-being, while brothers pledge to protect and support their sisters.
