Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday led a Tiranga Yatra and Swadeshi March in his parliamentary constituency of Vidisha-Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, urging citizens to embrace indigenous products. Before the march, he celebrated Raksha Bandhan with women from self-help groups (SHGs) in Vidisha, emphasizing the significance of the national flag and the importance of adopting Swadeshi.
Addressing the gathering, Chouhan described the Tricolour as a symbol of pride, honour, and identity, encouraging people to hoist it at their homes on Independence Day. He called for a collective pledge to prioritize ‘Made in India’ products, stating, “I pledge to buy only products made in India for my daily needs and will urge my family, neighbourhood, and village to do the same.” He highlighted the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that 3 crore women are on track to become Lakhpati Didis, earning Rs 1 lakh annually, with nearly 2 crore already close to achieving this goal ahead of schedule. He added that these women would soon progress to becoming “Millionaire Didis.”
Commenting on India’s stance on Pakistan, Chouhan asserted, “The Indus Waters Treaty is no longer the issue. The issue is Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. It is ours, and it will remain ours,” reaffirming India’s position on the matter.
