The Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Defence Technology and Test Centre (DTTC), Lucknow organised a conclave at its Amausi campus on Saturday to engage with micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups for defence research and development as well as production. The event aimed to boost participation in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
More than 100 representatives from MSMEs, start-ups and Laghu Udhyog Bharti took part in the discussions, which focused on skill development, funding for research and development, technical consultancy and technology development and transfer by DRDO.
In his inaugural address, the DRDO Chairman described DTTC as a brainchild of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, saying it was now bearing fruit for the benefit of industries. He briefed participants on industry-centric policies and available technologies and urged MSMEs to seize the opportunity to engage in defence R&D. He assured that DRDO would provide full support to enable MSMEs to contribute to building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and ultimately a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh complimented DRDO and the MSMEs for holding the conclave and acknowledged the important role of MSMEs in advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Senior DRDO officials, including Dr RV Hara Prasad, Director General (Naval Systems and Materials), Dr LC Mangal, Director General (Technology Management), and Dr Mayank Dwivedi, Director General (Human Resources) attended the event.
