Continuous heavy rainfall has lashed several parts of Jammu & Kashmir, swelling rivers and triggering flash flood-like conditions across multiple districts.
In Rajouri, incessant downpours have led to flood-like conditions, forcing authorities to remain on high alert. In Doda’s Bhalesa and Bhaderwah regions, torrential rains for the second consecutive day have caused severe flooding.
Amid the downpour, the Tawi River in Jammu is in full spate, while in Srinagar, the Jhelum River has seen a significant rise in its water level. Similarly, the Chenab River has also swollen due to continuous rainfall in its upper catchment areas.
Many houses in low-lying areas have been inundated as water from the Chenab entered residential zones, prompting urgent relief and evacuation measures.
