National Award-winning film Chalo Jeete Hain will be re-released across the country from September 17 to October 2, with screenings planned in lakhs of schools and nearly 500 cinema halls, including PVR Inox, Cinepolis, Rajhans and Miraj, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said on Tuesday.
The film, inspired by a childhood incident from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life, is a cinematic tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy—“Bas wahi jeete hain, jo doosro ke liye jeete hain” (Only those are truly successful who live for others).
As part of the special re-release, the Chalo Jeete Hain: Seva Ka Sanman initiative has been launched to honour “silent heroes” such as school watchmen, drivers, cleaning staff and peons. They will be felicitated after joint screenings with students, with the aim of instilling values of service and respect for every individual’s contribution.
“This movement carries a deeply powerful message. It will inspire millions of young minds about valuing and respecting every work and each individual. It reinforces the timeless values of selflessness, empathy and duty to the nation—a true tribute to our Prime Minister,” producer Mahaveer Jain said.
Directed by Mangesh Hadawale and presented by Aanand L. Rai and Jain, the film won the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Values in 2018 and was among the most viewed short films of that year.
The ministry said the re-release is aimed at inspiring youth to embrace a life of purpose, service and contribution to society, in line with the values reflected in PM Modi’s early life and Vivekananda’s teachings.
