Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on September 20 to participate in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ event and inaugurate as well as lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore.
The programmes will begin in Bhavnagar at around 10:30 a.m., where the PM will also address a public gathering. Later in the day, he will undertake an aerial survey of Dholera and at around 1:30 p.m. chair a review meeting before visiting the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NHMC) at Lothal.
In a major boost to maritime-led growth, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹7,870 crore. These include the inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and the foundation stone for a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.
New facilities will also be launched at Paradip Port, including a container berth and cargo handling systems, while the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal at Deendayal Port, Kandla, will also be developed.
Additional projects include firefighting facilities and modern road connectivity at Kamarajar Port in Ennore, coastal protection works at Chennai Port, seawall construction at Car Nicobar Island, a multi-purpose cargo berth and a Green Bio-Methanol Plant at Deendayal Port, and ship repair facilities at Patna and Varanasi.
Alongside these initiatives, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹26,354 crore in Gujarat across multiple sectors, including energy, healthcare, highways and urban transport.
Key projects to be launched are the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, the PM-KUSUM 475 MW solar feeder for farmers, and the 45 MW Badeli Sol0ar PV Project. Dhordo village will become fully solarised under these efforts.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Sinh Government Hospital in Jamnagar, while laying the foundation stone for the four-laning of 70 kilometres of national highways.
As part of his visit, PM Modi will conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), envisioned as a greenfield industrial city built around sustainable industrialisation, smart infrastructure and global investment.
The Prime Minister will also review the progress of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, being developed at a cost of around ₹4,500 crore. The complex aims to celebrate and preserve India’s ancient maritime traditions while also serving as a world-class hub for tourism, research, education and skill development.
