Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Semicon India 2025 today at 10 AM at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. The flagship event aims to catalyse India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem and position the country as a global hub for chip design, manufacturing, and technology development. The Prime Minister will also take part in the conference on September 3, including a special roundtable with global CEOs.
The three-day conference, scheduled from September 2 to 4, will focus on building a robust, resilient, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in India. Discussions will cover a wide spectrum of topics including the progress of the Semicon India Programme, semiconductor fabrication and advanced packaging projects, infrastructure readiness, smart manufacturing, research and development, artificial intelligence applications, investment opportunities, and state-level policy implementation. The event will also spotlight initiatives under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, the rise of India’s semiconductor startups, and international partnerships shaping the sector’s future roadmap.
This year’s edition is expected to draw more than 20,750 participants, including 2,500 delegates from over 48 countries. The conference will feature over 150 speakers—among them more than 50 global industry leaders – and showcase over 350 exhibitors. Highlights include country pavilions, six country-level roundtable discussions, and dedicated spaces for workforce development and startup innovation.
Semicon conferences are held globally to promote technological advancements in the semiconductor industry and share policy strategies to strengthen national ecosystems. In line with the Prime Minister’s vision, India has hosted Semicon conferences in Bengaluru (2022), Gandhinagar (2023), and Greater Noida (2024). The 2025 edition in New Delhi marks another milestone in showcasing India’s commitment to advancing semiconductor design, manufacturing, and innovation.
