Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth edition of World Food India 2025, a global mega food event, on September 25 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries announced on Saturday. The inaugural ceremony, scheduled for 6:00 PM, will also be attended by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan.
Organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the event, running from September 25 to 28, aims to position India as the “Food Hub of the World” by fostering collaboration, innovation, and investments across the food processing value chain. Building on the success of previous editions, World Food India 2025 will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and researchers to explore opportunities in India’s rapidly growing food processing ecosystem.
The event will feature a diverse range of activities, including high-level knowledge sessions and panel discussions with global thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts. Sectoral exhibitions will showcase innovations, technologies, and solutions in food processing, packaging, machinery, cold chain, and allied industries. Additionally, B2B and B2G networking sessions will facilitate strategic partnerships, while culinary experiences and chef competitions will highlight India’s rich food diversity alongside global trends in healthy, sustainable, and futuristic foods.
This year, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia have been designated as Partner Countries, with Japan, UAE, Vietnam, and Russia participating as Focus Countries to strengthen bilateral ties, enhance knowledge exchange, and boost trade and investment in the food processing sector. The event will also host two significant parallel events: the 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit by FSSAI, focusing on harmonising food safety standards and regulatory cooperation, and the 24th India International Seafood Show by the Seafood Exporters Association of India, spotlighting India’s growing seafood export potential and global market linkages.
A large number of domestic and international exhibitors are expected to participate, making World Food India 2025 one of the most comprehensive showcases of the global food ecosystem. On September 11, Union Minister Chirag Paswan visited Bharat Mandapam to review arrangements, inspecting the venue layout, logistics, stall planning, security measures, and protocols for international delegates. He stressed the importance of seamless coordination and adherence to international standards to ensure a world-class experience for all participants.
