Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on Monday, during which he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of multiple development projects worth over Rs 5,100 crore.
Arunachal Pradesh:
In Itanagar, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for two major hydropower projects worth over Rs 3,700 crore — the Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and the Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW) — located in the Siyom sub-basin. These projects are expected to harness the state’s vast hydroelectric potential and promote sustainable energy generation.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art convention center in Tawang, situated at an altitude of over 9,820 feet. With a capacity to host over 1,500 delegates, the center will serve as a venue for national and international conferences, cultural festivals, and exhibitions, supporting tourism and the cultural potential of the region.
In addition, the Prime Minister will launch infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,290 crore across sectors including connectivity, health, fire safety, and working women’s hostels. These projects are expected to improve local quality of life, catalyze economic activity, and enhance regional connectivity. He will also interact with local taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives to discuss the impact of the recent GST rate rationalisation.
Tripura:
In Tripura, PM Modi will inaugurate the development work of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme. The temple, one of the 51 ancient Shakti Peethas, is located in Udaipur town of Gomati district.
The temple redevelopment project, designed in the shape of a tortoise when viewed from above, includes modifications to temple premises, new pathways, renovated entrances, improved drainage, and fencing. A new three-storied complex will feature stalls, a meditation hall, guest accommodations, office rooms, and other facilities. The initiative is expected to enhance tourism, generate employment, promote local business opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
