PM to visit Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, launch major health and development initiatives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, where he will launch a series of health and development programmes, including the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar initiative, the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, and the PM MITRA Park in Dhar.

The Prime Minister will address a public gathering in Dhar at noon, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the nationwide Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar campaign. Organised from September 17 to October 2 across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres and government hospitals, the campaign will see more than one lakh health camps, making it the largest outreach exercise for women and children in the country.

The initiative will focus on preventive, promotive, and curative health services, including screening for non-communicable diseases, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease. It will also promote maternal, child, and adolescent health through antenatal care, immunisation, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, and mental health awareness.

Specialist services in gynaecology, paediatrics, eye care, ENT, dermatology, psychiatry and dentistry will be mobilised from medical colleges and district hospitals. Alongside, nationwide blood donation drives will be held, with donors registered on the e-Raktkosh portal. Beneficiaries will also be enrolled under Ayushman Bharat schemes, with grievance redressal helpdesks and awareness activities on nutrition and lifestyle diseases.

The Prime Minister is also expected to release direct fund transfers under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana for nearly ten lakh women, and launch the Suman Sakhi chatbot to spread awareness on maternal and child health in rural areas. Furthering the government’s fight against sickle cell anaemia, he will distribute the one-croreth Sickle Cell Screening and Counselling Card in the state.

As part of the Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan, PM Modi will launch the Adi Seva Parv in Madhya Pradesh, which will include health, education, nutrition, skill development, sanitation, water conservation, and livelihood activities in tribal areas. The campaign will also introduce the Tribal Village Action Plan and Vision 2030 to prepare development roadmaps for villages.

In Dhar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the PM MITRA Park, spread over 2,150 acres, as part of the Centre’s Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign vision. With investment proposals worth ₹23,140 crore from textile firms, the park is expected to generate nearly three lakh jobs, boost exports, and enhance incomes for cotton farmers in the region.

He will also present a sapling to a women’s self-help group member under Madhya Pradesh’s Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam initiative. Over 10,000 women in the state are set to develop community gardens under the programme.
