President Murmu urges probationary officers to contribute to building a prosperous and inclusive India

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday interacted with probationers of the Indian Statistical Service (ISS), Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS), and Central Engineering Service (CES) at Rashtrapati Bhavan, urging them to serve the nation with passion, integrity, and a commitment to inclusive development.

Addressing the Indian Statistical Service probationers, the President underlined the crucial role of accurate statistical analysis in shaping effective public policy. She said that in today’s data-driven world, the relevance of statistics has grown tremendously, and statistical officers are vital in compiling and analyzing official data to meet the country’s growing information needs.

Speaking to the officers of the Indian Skill Development Service, President Murmu emphasized that skill and knowledge are the engines of economic growth and social progress. She said that as India advances toward technology-driven growth, it is imperative for the youth to embrace advanced technological skills. She expressed confidence that ISDS officers will emerge as a specialized cadre of skill administrators and play a pivotal role in shaping a future-ready workforce.

Addressing the Central Engineering Service probationers, the President highlighted the key role engineers play in driving technological advancement and supporting the government’s large-scale infrastructure development push. She urged CPWD and other engineering organizations to provide the technical foundation for these initiatives while ensuring sustainability. She appreciated CPWD’s efforts to adopt environment-friendly measures in its projects.

President Murmu reminded the officers that they are not only implementers but also contributors to policy-making through their feedback. She said their work will have a direct impact on the development of weaker and marginalized sections, which will determine the pace of the nation’s growth. “By serving with passion and integrity, you can contribute to building a prosperous, resilient, and inclusive India, and ensure that our country stands as a model of strength and progress before the world,” she said.
