The national capital witnessed a spell of overnight showers early Monday, bringing relief from humid conditions while improving air quality across the Delhi-NCR region.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Monday, forecasting light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
According to the IMD, wind speeds may reach 30–40 kmph, accompanied by intermittent showers across various parts of the city.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32°C, while the minimum may settle at 24°C. However, high humidity levels are likely to cause discomfort once the rain subsides.
On Sunday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1°C, slightly below normal, and a minimum of 24.2°C, marginally below average.
Air quality also saw an improvement, with the average AQI dropping to 123 at 7 am from Sunday’s 159, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The IMD has advised residents to exercise caution during thunderstorms, avoid open areas, stay indoors when possible, and secure loose items that may be affected by strong winds.
