Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi on Thursday to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming the Modi government’s resolve to achieve a terrorism-free region. The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of Intelligence Bureau, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, along with senior officials from the Government of India, the Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
Shah highlighted that the concerted efforts of security agencies have nearly dismantled the terrorist network in Jammu and Kashmir, attributing the success to their determined actions against threats nurtured by adversaries. He assured that security forces would continue to receive full operational freedom and necessary resources to counter any attempts to disrupt peace in the region.
The Home Minister commended the Jammu and Kashmir administration and security agencies for their response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, noting that their actions have significantly strengthened the region’s security landscape. Shah emphasized the need for close coordination and heightened vigilance among all security agencies to completely eradicate terrorism.
With winter approaching, Shah directed security forces to remain fully prepared to prevent terrorists from exploiting snowfall for cross-border infiltration. The meeting underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring lasting peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir.
