Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal on Tuesday inaugurated the new “Live Cases” Dashboard under the Legal Information Management and Briefing System (LIMBS) at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi.
Speaking at the event, the Minister lauded the initiative as a major step towards enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing government litigation.
The event was attended by senior officials, including Anju Rathi Rana, Union Law Secretary, along with dignitaries from various Ministries and Departments.
The “Live Cases” Dashboard offers real-time data visualization of court cases, enabling Ministries and Departments to track upcoming hearings and coordinate responses more effectively. This technological intervention aims to streamline legal processes and support proactive decision-making.
The Government of India, being one of the biggest litigants, has been working to reduce the burden of litigation in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. LIMBS is a key part of this strategy, designed to monitor court cases systematically and efficiently.
Currently, the LIMBS portal tracks 7,23,123 live cases across 53 Ministries and Departments, with 13,175 Ministry users and 18,458 advocates regularly updating case information.
Officials noted that the launch of the “Live Cases” Dashboard is a milestone in the government’s digital transformation journey, reinforcing its commitment to leveraging technology for better legal case management, data-driven insights, and stronger governance outcomes.
