Indian match referee GS Lakshmi and umpire Vrinda Rathi have been named among the match officials for the semifinals of the ongoing 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup.
In the league stage of the competition, Vrinda officiated in four matches, while Lakshmi served as match referee in six games held in Colombo.
Both officials will be on duty for the first semi-final, where England face South Africa at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday. Lakshmi will be the match referee, while Vrinda will serve as the third umpire. Claire Polosak has been appointed as the fourth umpire.
Eloise Sheridan and Jacqueline Williams will be the on-field umpires for the first semi-final. Sheridan had officiated when the two sides met in the group stage—a match England won by 10 wickets—and also oversaw South Africa’s victory over Pakistan.
Williams was in charge for two matches apiece involving both teams during the group stage—South Africa’s wins over India and Bangladesh, and England’s victory against India and loss to Australia.
For the second semi-final between India and Australia at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, Lauren Agenbag and Sue Redfern will be the on-field umpires. Agenbag officiated India’s matches against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
Redfern, meanwhile, was among the on-field umpires for the group-stage encounter between India and Australia, when Alyssa Healy’s sparkling century guided Australia to the highest successful run chase in women’s ODIs, securing a three-wicket win in Visakhapatnam.
They will be joined by Kim Cotton (third umpire), Nimali Perera (fourth umpire), and Michell Pereira (match referee). The winners of both semi-finals will meet in the title clash in Navi Mumbai on November 2.
