India, Sri Lanka to co-host inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket for Blind 2025

Sri Lanka and India are set to co-host the first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup – Cricket for the Blind, scheduled from November 11 to 23, 2025. The tournament will open in New Delhi with an inauguration and five matches (Nov 11–13), followed by four games in Bengaluru (Nov. 14–16). Colombo will stage the concluding leg, hosting 15 matches including the semi-finals, final, and closing ceremony on November 23.

The announcement was made in Colombo in the presence of Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage, leaders of the Sri Lanka Cricket Association for the Visually Handicapped, and representatives from the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI).

CABI Chairman Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar described the event as “a historic moment in women’s blind cricket,” while Minister Gamage called blind cricket “a shining example of determination, resilience, and extraordinary talent.” He also launched the official website of Sri Lanka’s association for visually handicapped cricketers.

Teams from Australia, England, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the USA will compete in 21 league matches, two semi-finals, and the final.
