India sweeps Kabaddi Gold at Asian Youth Games

India completed a dominant kabaddi double at the 2025 Asian Youth Games at Bahrain, with both Under-18 teams claiming gold medals while remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament.The girls’ team demolished Iran 75-21 in the final, recording the largest victory margin in a Youth Games kabaddi final since 2013. Raider Neha Patel starred with 28 points, while defender Riya Singh delivered crucial tackles as India overwhelmed their rivals after a competitive first half. The team’s tournament dominance was absolute: 312 points scored and just 89 conceded across five matches.

The boys’ team secured a nail-biting 35-32 victory over Iran in their final. The closely contested match saw India hold their nerve in the closing minutes to clinch gold, with both sides displaying remarkable defensive and attacking skills throughout the encounter.The clean sweep reaffirms India’s position as Asia’s youth kabaddi powerhouse and adds significantly to the nation’s medal tally at the Games.The matches were held at the Isa Sports City arena in Riffa, which hosted all kabaddi events for the Games.The Asian Youth Games, a multi-sport event for athletes aged 14-18 across Asia, brings together young competitors from across the continent every four years.
