Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday led the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 by administering the Integrity Pledge to senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi.
The week-long observance, held from October 27 to November 2, is being marked nationwide under the theme “सतर्कता: हमारी साझा जिम्मेदारी” (Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility). The campaign, initiated under the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), aims to strengthen the culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability across public institutions.
Addressing the gathering, Nadda underscored the importance of ethical governance and preventive vigilance, calling for vigilance to become an “institutional habit.” He emphasized that good governance is rooted in awareness and adherence to integrity at every level of public service.
“A checklist of do’s and don’ts should be prepared in simple, layman’s terms so that people do not end up doing anything wrong in good faith or under compassionate consideration,” Nadda said. “Training and capacity building should be a regular exercise so that everyone remains aware and alert,” he added.
In the lead-up to the observance, the CVC had issued a circular in August advising all government departments and organizations to undertake a three-month campaign on Preventive Vigilance from August 18 to November 17. The initiative focuses on five key areas: disposal of pending complaints, disposal of pending cases, capacity building programs, asset management, and digital initiatives.
Senior officers, officials, and staff members of the Health Ministry participated in the pledge ceremony, reaffirming their collective commitment to uphold the principles of transparency, integrity, and accountability in governance.
