The Legislative Department under the Ministry of Law and Justice has taken steps to improve digital safety by organizing a workshop on “National Cyber Security” on Thursday, as part of Special Campaign 5.0. Experts from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) facilitated the workshop. “Securing the government’s digital ecosystem requires enhancing officials’ awareness and cyber hygiene,” the ministry said in a statement.
In earlier years, the focus of Special Campaign initiatives largely remained on administrative efficiency, record management, and cleanliness drives. The inclusion of cybersecurity under Special Campaign 5.0 marks a significant shift, acknowledging that digital safety is now integral to governance. With most government functions moving to online platforms, ensuring that officials are equipped to recognize cyber threats and safeguard data has become a national priority.
The workshop addressed key aspects of cyber awareness, including identifying phishing emails, managing passwords securely, protecting sensitive information, and maintaining responsible digital behavior. NIC experts demonstrated the use of modern tools and shared preventive strategies to mitigate the risks of cyberattacks. The department’s staff participated actively, resolving to adopt these practices in daily official work.
