Swachhata Hi Seva 2025

Over 59,000 join Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign led by I&B Ministry

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) successfully concluded the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, held from September 17 to October 2, with over 59,000 participants engaged in more than 2,700 activities across the country.

A total of 2,766 events were organized by the Ministry and its media units under various themes such as cleaning of Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs), door-to-door campaigns, awareness drives, Swachhta rallies, drawing competitions, poem recitations, street plays, and slogan writing. The activities culminated in large-scale public participation under the national call for cleanliness.

As part of the campaign, 1,588 locations were cleaned and 824 CTUs were transformed. In addition, 198 events were held under ‘Advocacy for Swachhta,’ 49 under ‘Clean Green Utsav,’ and 107 under ‘Safaimitra Suraksha Shivirs.’

On September 25, the Ministry participated in the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ initiative, and marked October 2 as ‘Swachh Bharat Diwas’. Officers and staff stepped out with brooms in hand to join the nationwide cleanliness drive.

Secretary, Information and Broadcasting, Sanjay Jaju led the shramdaan activity at the Main Secretariat in Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, encouraging staff across media units to participate in the campaign. He also reviewed preparations and implementation efforts with media unit heads and nodal officers to ensure effective execution.

Media organisations across the country contributed to the campaign with localised activities. IIMC Amravati conducted a Swachhta rally, while DDK Mumbai led a beach-cleaning drive at Dadar. IIMC Kottayam marked the occasion by creating an organic flower rangoli as a tribute to cleanliness and sustainability.

Other notable efforts included door-to-door awareness campaigns by IIMC Delhi, street plays by DDK Patna, cleanliness drives by CBFC Delhi and AIR Ahmedabad, and a health camp organized by DDK Delhi. Akashvani stations in Amethi and Imphal, NFDC Mumbai, and other media units also carried out local drives.
