PM Modi to launch, inaugurate projects worth Rs 13,430 crore in Andhra Pradesh today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh today to inaugurate, lay the foundation stone, and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth around ₹13,430 crore. His visit will begin with a spiritual stop in Srisailam, followed by a major public programme in Kurnool.

The Prime Minister will arrive in Srisailam at around 11:15 AM, where he will perform Pooja and Darshan at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Nandyal district. This temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 52 Shakti Peethas, is unique for housing both in a single complex. He will then visit the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra at 12:15 PM. The memorial complex, commemorating Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s historic 1677 visit to the shrine, features models of four iconic forts – Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri – alongside a central meditation statue of the Maratha warrior king.

Later in the day, at around 2:30 PM, the Prime Minister will travel to Kurnool, where he will participate in a public event and unveil projects spanning industry, power, infrastructure, defence manufacturing, petroleum, and natural gas.

Among the key initiatives, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Transmission System Strengthening at Kurnool-III Pooling Station, an investment of over ₹2,880 crore. This 765 KV double-circuit transmission line between Kurnool-III Pooling Station and Chilakaluripeta will enhance transformation capacity by 6,000 MVA, enabling large-scale renewable energy transmission.

He will also launch the Orvakal and Kopparthy Industrial Areas, developed by National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. With a combined investment of ₹4,920 crore, these multi-sectoral hubs are expected to attract ₹21,000 crore in further investments and create about one lakh jobs in the Rayalaseema region.

To improve road infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar at a cost of ₹960 crore. He will also inaugurate six road projects worth ₹1,140 crore, including key upgrades on national highways and bypasses aimed at easing congestion, improving safety, and reducing travel time.

In the railway sector, projects worth over ₹1,200 crore will be launched, including the foundation stone for the Kottavalasa–Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line and the Rail Flyover between Pendurti and Simhachalam North. PM Modi will also dedicate the doubling of the Kottavalasa–Boddavara and Shimiliguda–Gorapur sections to the nation. These projects are expected to improve passenger and freight movement, support trade and tourism, and boost regional economic activity.

The Prime Minister will dedicate the GAIL India Limited Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline to the nation. Built at a cost of ₹1,730 crore, the 422-km pipeline spans Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, strengthening energy infrastructure in the region. He will also inaugurate Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s new LPG bottling plant in Chittoor, set up at ₹200 crore, which will cater to over 7.2 lakh customers across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

Further, to advance self-reliance in defence manufacturing, PM Modi will dedicate Bharat Electronics Limited’s Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru in Krishna district. Built at a cost of ₹360 crore, the facility will produce electro-optical systems for the Indian armed forces and create skilled employment opportunities.
