Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on Saturday to inaugurate a series of developmental projects, address public gatherings, and participate in state-level celebrations marking 25 years of the formation of Chhattisgarh.
The Prime Minister’s visit will begin in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, where he will interact with around 2,500 children successfully treated for congenital heart diseases under the ‘Gift of Life’ programme at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital as part of the ‘Dil Ki Baat’ initiative. Later, he will inaugurate “Shanti Shikhar” of Brahma Kumaris, a modern centre for spiritual learning, peace, and meditation.
At the new premises of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Nava Raipur, Prime Minister Modi will unveil the statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Built on the Green Building concept, the new assembly structure is designed to operate on solar power and includes a rainwater harvesting system. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the building and address the gathering on the occasion.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will visit and inaugurate the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, which highlights the courage and patriotism of the state’s tribal communities. He will also launch the Museum Portal and e-book Aadi Shourya and unveil a horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh.
Prime Minister Modi will then participate in the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, celebrating 25 years of the state’s formation, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹14,260 crore across sectors including roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.
In a bid to strengthen rural livelihoods, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme blocks across nine districts. He will also participate in the Griha Pravesh of 3.51 lakh completed houses and release ₹1,200 crore as installment to three lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
To enhance connectivity, he will lay the foundation stone for a four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon–Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand border, developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at a cost of ₹3,150 crore. The project will boost industrial linkages across Korba, Raigarh, Jashpur, Ranchi, and Jamshedpur. Additionally, he will lay the foundation for NH-130D connecting Narayanpur to the Maharashtra border and inaugurate the upgradation of NH-130C between Madangmuda and Deobhog. These projects are aimed at improving connectivity in tribal and interior regions.
In the power sector, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Inter-Regional ER–WR Interconnection Project to increase power transfer capacity between the Eastern and Western grids by 1,600 MW. He will also dedicate and lay the foundation for energy sector projects worth over ₹3,750 crore, including initiatives under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme worth ₹1,860 crore and nine new power substations across Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Bastar districts.
Further, he will inaugurate HPCL’s new Petroleum Oil Depot at Raipur, developed at a cost of ₹460 crore, and dedicate the 489 km Nagpur–Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, built at a cost of ₹1,950 crore. The pipeline will connect 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to the National Gas Grid, promoting cleaner fuel use and industrial development.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for two Smart Industrial Areas in Janjgir–Champa and Rajnandgaon, along with a Pharmaceutical Park at Nava Raipur’s Sector 22. The visit will conclude with the foundation laying for five new Government Medical Colleges across the state and a Government Ayurveda College and Hospital at Bilaspur, further expanding medical education and healthcare access in Chhattisgarh.
