Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on October 30 and 31 to take part in a series of developmental events and the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
On October 30, the Prime Minister will travel to Ekta Nagar, Kevadia. At around 5:15 PM, he will flag off E-buses and later, at around 6:30 PM, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various infrastructural and development projects worth over ₹1,140 crore.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, these projects aim to enhance tourism, improve accessibility, and promote sustainability in the region surrounding the Statue of Unity. The initiatives reflect the government’s vision of eco-tourism, green mobility, smart infrastructure, and tribal development.
Among the projects to be inaugurated are the Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla, the Hospitality District (Phase-1) at Garudeshwar, Vaman Vriksha Vatika, Satpuda Protection Wall, E-Bus Charging Depot with 25 Electric Buses, Narmada Ghat Extension, Kaushalya Path, Walkway from Ekta Dwar to Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan (Phase-2), Smart Bus Stops (Phase-2), Dam Replica Fountain, and GSEC Quarters.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India, Veer Balak Udyan, a Sports Complex, Rain Forest Project, Jetty Development near Shoolpaneshwar Ghat, and Travelators at the Statue of Unity, among other projects.
During the programme, Prime Minister Modi will release a commemorative coin of ₹150 and a special postage stamp to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
On October 31, Prime Minister Modi will offer floral tribute to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity at around 8 AM and participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations. He will administer the Ekta Diwas pledge and witness the Ekta Diwas Parade.
The parade will feature contingents from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, along with various state police forces. A BSF marching contingent comprising exclusively Indian dog breeds such as Rampur Hounds and Mudhol Hounds will participate for the first time. Other highlights include Gujarat Police’s Horse Contingent, Assam Police’s Motorcycle Daredevil Show, and BSF’s Camel Contingent and Camel Mounted Band.
The event will also honour five Shaurya Chakra awardees from CRPF and sixteen gallantry medal winners from BSF for their courage in anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand and counter-terror operations in Jammu & Kashmir. BSF personnel involved in Operation Sindoor will also be recognised.
Ten tableaux from NSG, NDRF, and states and Union Territories including Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Manipur, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Puducherry will be showcased on the theme “Unity in Diversity.” A cultural performance by 900 artists will depict India’s classical dance forms and cultural heritage.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will interact with Officer Trainees of the 100th Common Foundation Course at the culmination of Aarambh 7.0. This year’s Aarambh, themed “Reimagining Governance,” features 660 Officer Trainees from 16 civil services of India and 3 from Bhutan.
The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations this year hold special significance as the nation honours Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, reaffirming his vision of unity and integrity for the nation.
