Record crowd celebrates UAE–India bonds at ‘Emirates Loves India’ festival in Dubai

Dubai’s Zabeel Park turned into a sea of lights, music, and festivity as more than 100,000 people came together for the second edition of Emirates Loves India, celebrating the enduring friendship between the UAE and India. Held on October 26 under the theme “Ghar Jaisi Diwali,” the event extended the spirit of Diwali with cultural performances, regional cuisines, and a message of unity and togetherness.

Organized by the Emirates Loves India initiative, in partnership with the UAE Government Media Office, the event showcased a vibrant blend of Indian traditions and Emirati hospitality. Folk dancers from across India led a dazzling parade, while classical performances by children from Dubai added a touch of nostalgia and pride.According to the UAE Government Media Office, the festival drew more than 100,000 people, making it the largest celebration of its kind in the UAE.

India’s Deputy Chief of Mission in Abu Dhabi, A. Amarnath, said, “To celebrate India in Dubai, a city that truly represents the confluence of communities and cultures from all over the world, is both a privilege and a delight. No matter how far we are from home, the light of our traditions continues to guide us.” He thanked the UAE leadership for their continued warmth toward the Indian community, adding that the evening reflected “how deeply the Indian community in the UAE is woven into the country’s social and cultural fabric.”

UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi, the chief guest at the event, said, “Tonight, we celebrate one of the world’s most enduring friendships, a bond that continues to inspire cooperation and mutual trust between our countries. The Indian community is not just part of our story; they have helped write some of the most inspiring chapters in the history of our nation.”

The event was a vibrant spectacle, culminating in electrifying performances by Bollywood stars Neha Kakkar and Mika Singh, alongside Malayalam actor – singer Neeraj Madhav. They had the crowd dancing throughout the evening. Earlier, the atmosphere was uniquely set by yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who led the audience through his signature breathing exercises and yoga poses, promoting health and wellness. Beyond the main stage, the venue was packed with attractions, from handicraft and artisan stalls and henna art corners to diverse regional food vendors and a fun children’s zone. As fireworks lit up the Dubai skyline, the celebration served as a powerful symbol to the city’s spirit of cultural harmony and coexistence. For the thousands of Indian residents, it was a memorable celebration of their shared heritage and friendship.
