Sewa Parv 2025 culminates with nationwide art celebrations, echoes vision of Viksit Bharat 2047

The Ministry of Culture concluded the fortnight-long Sewa Parv 2025 on Gandhi Jayanti with large-scale art workshops held in Srinagar and Diu, as part of a national effort to promote civic responsibility and cultural engagement aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Organised from September 17 to October 2, the initiative combined themes of sewa (service) and kala (art), and witnessed widespread participation from students, artists, and institutions across the country.

In Srinagar, over a thousand students and artists participated in a mega art workshop at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre. The event was addressed by Principal Secretary, Culture, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Brij Mohan Sharma; Prof. Zahoor Zargar, Head of Department at NIST; and Padma Shri awardee Farooq Ahmad Mir. Speakers urged youth to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the valley while contributing to India’s future as a developed nation.

Simultaneously, in Diu, the Western Zonal Cultural Centre held art workshops at the INS Khukri Memorial and in multiple schools in Vanakbara, including GHSS (Girls), Government High School (Boys), and Galaxy English Medium School. More than 500 students participated in the activities, creating artworks on the theme “Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang.” Deputy Collector of Diu Shri Shivam Mishra, along with officials from local bodies and the education department, emphasized the role of the younger generation in shaping India’s progress.

Throughout the country, Sewa Parv 2025 was observed with a range of initiatives that integrated community service and artistic expression. From street art to cultural programmes in schools, the campaign saw widespread grassroots participation.

The Ministry of Culture stated that such efforts are key to embedding service and creativity into the national cultural framework. By involving students, artists, and local institutions, the campaign aimed to create a sense of ownership and sustained participation beyond formal government structures.
