Narendra Modi | PM Modi | Prime Minister | Web Portal | PM Awards for Excellence in Public Administration

Web-portal for Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025 launched

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) on Wednesday officially launched the web portal for the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025. The portal (https://pmawards.gov.in/) — was inaugurated through a video conference attended by officials from central ministries, state governments, union territories, and district administrations across the country.

The portal will facilitate registration and submission of nominations, which opened on October 1, 2025, and will remain active until November 15, 2025.

Instituted to promote constructive competition, innovation, replication, and institutionalisation of best practices, the awards have undergone a major transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014. Unlike earlier years, the focus is now on good governance, qualitative achievements, and last-mile connectivity, rather than only on quantitative outcomes.

For the 2025 awards, districts will be evaluated under categories such as Holistic Development and the Aspirational Blocks Programme, which covers 500 aspirational blocks across 331 districts. Applications will be assessed on three key parameters — Good Governance, Qualitative, and Quantitative achievements.

The evaluation process will involve shortlisting by a screening committee, detailed examination by an expert committee, and final recommendations by an empowered committee, before receiving the Prime Minister’s approval.

A total of 16 awards will be presented this year. Each award includes a trophy, a scroll, and an incentive of Rs. 20 lakh, to be used for implementing welfare projects or bridging resource gaps.

The period of consideration is April 1, 2022 to September 30, 2025 for Category I and April 1, 2023 to September 30, 2025 for Categories II and III.

According to Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, “All districts across India will participate, reaffirming the awards’ role in encouraging innovation and improving public service delivery at the grassroots level.”
