‘All those responsible will be brought to justice’: PM Modi on Delhi blast

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday assured that strict action would be taken against those behind the deadly car blast in Delhi. He made the remarks while addressing a large gathering at Changlimethang Ground in Thimphu, Bhutan.

PM Modi is in Thimphu for a two-day state visit to Bhutan where he will participate in the Global Peace Prayer Festival and other official programmes.

PM Modi’s remarks came in the wake of a deadly car explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening, which left eight people dead and several others injured.

PM Modi said that he arrived in Bhutan with a heavy heart, as the horrific incident that took place in Delhi on Monday evening had deeply disturbed everyone. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and affirmed that the entire nation stands with them in this moment of grief.

The Prime Minister said he had been in constant contact through the night with all agencies involved in investigating the blast. He emphasized that Indian authorities would uncover the full conspiracy behind the attack and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

“Today, I have come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply distressed everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them. I was in contact with all the agencies and officials engaged in the investigation throughout last night. Deliberations were ongoing, and the threads of information were being connected. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice,” PM Modi said.
