Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, inspected the ongoing construction work at the Ram Temple premises in Ayodhya ahead of the ‘Dhwaj’ (flag) ceremony scheduled for November 25.
Speaking to ANI, Mishra said, “The Prime Minister is arriving on 25th November, with the main function set to take place in the temple premises. Senior officials have arrived for inspection, and other special arrangements are also being made. The temple construction is in its final phase and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Flag hoisting is a significant event and holds great importance. The flag will be saffron in colour, bearing the symbol of the Sun.”
He added, “The discussions and preparations are focused on the Prime Minister’s program. We are ensuring proper arrangements for his visit so that he can tour the temple premises and review all ongoing construction works. The plan will be finalised based on suggestions from the Prime Minister’s Office.”
On the flag-hoisting ceremony, Mishra told reporters, “We want the flag to be hoisted atop the temple’s main spire, and for that, certain technical requirements are being examined. Experts from the Defence Ministry, who specialise in such work, are assisting to ensure that the ceremony on November 25 goes smoothly without any issues.”
He confirmed that the main temple structure, along with six subsidiary shrines dedicated to Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna, and Lord Sheshavatar, has been completed.
He said that now the attention is being paid to the beautification of the temple premises, including the plantations.
“Now that the construction of the temple is complete, ‘Ram Parivar’ is ‘virajman’ on the first floor of the temple. An arti of the ‘Ram Parivar’ will be performed on that day when the PM will hoist the ‘Dhwaj’ atop the Ram temple. The Nyas is organising this programme, with Champat Rai as the in-charge. A list of 6,000-8,000 invitees has been prepared for this programme,” he said.
“The ceremony of hoisting the ‘Pataka’ over the ‘Shikhar’ of the Ram temple is a kind of religious announcement to the devotees of Lord Ram that the temple, including the outer security wall – ‘Parkota’ – is complete in all respects. It calls every devotee to visit the temple and offer prayers,” Mishra added.
Meanwhile, Ayodhya’s infrastructure development continues alongside the temple construction. The government has allocated ₹4,560 crore for improving road connectivity between key religious destinations including Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mathura, Chitrakoot, and Prayagraj, and ₹4,200 crore for developing the Buddhist Circuit covering Sarnath, Kushinagar, Shravasti, Kaushambi, and other sites.
