Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Sunday described the Bhagavad Gita as a universal guide that continues to offer moral clarity and direction in times of rapid change. He made the remarks at the Akhil Bhartiya Devsthanam Sammelan held as part of the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, Haryana.

Radhakrishnan said the Gita’s principles remain relevant for individuals and societies, and can support India’s national goals, including the vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @ 2047. He also highlighted the growing scale of the International Gita Mahotsav, which has expanded into a global cultural and spiritual event over the past nine years.
The Vice-President appreciated the Haryana government and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for supporting the Mahotsav and promoting the state’s cultural initiatives. He said the event helps make the teachings of the Gita accessible to people of all ages and reinforces values such as duty, discipline and excellence.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the Kurukshetra Development Board and the Gita Knowledge Institute in bringing together spiritual leaders, scholars, artists and experts to discuss culture and knowledge traditions.
