The NDA has registered a thumping victory in Bihar, with Darbhanga district delivering a perfect result and contributing significantly to the alliance’s statewide dominance.
Darbhanga has nine Assembly constituencies, and all nine were won by the BJP and JDU. Other NDA allies, such as LJP(RV), HAM, or RLM, did not contest here.
Alinagar: The Alinagar seat, considered a hot seat in Darbhanga, saw Bhojpuri folk singer Maithili Thakur contest on the BJP ticket. She defeated RJD candidate Binod Mishra by a margin of 11,730 votes.
Bahadurpur: Madan Sahani of JDU, a former cabinet minister in the Nitish Kumar government, won against RJD’s Bhola Yadav, a close aide of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, with a margin of 12,011 votes.
Benipur: Binay Kumar Choudhary of JDU defeated Congress candidate Mithilesh Kumar Choudhary by 13,603 votes.
Darbhanga: Former cabinet minister and BJP candidate Sanjay Saraogi defeated Umesh Sahani of VIP by 24,593 votes.
Darbhanga Rural: Ratenesh Kumar Mandal of JDU defeated RJD candidate Lalit Kumar Yadav with a margin of 18,453 votes.
Gaura Bauram: In Gaura Bauram, a friendly contest between RJD and VIP ended with the VIP candidate withdrawing. As a result, BJP’s Sujit Singh led RJD’s Afzal Ali Khan by 5,253 votes after 20 rounds of counting, with only two rounds remaining. VIP’s Santosh Sahani scored just 381 votes.
Hayaghat: Ram Chandra Prasad of BJP won convincingly against CPIM’s Shyam Bihari by 11,839 votes.
Jale: Jibesh Kumar of BJP, a former cabinet minister in the Nitish Kumar government (2020–2025), defeated Congress candidate Rishi Mishra by 21,862 votes.
Keoti: Murari Mohan Jha of BJP won the seat by 7,305 votes against RJD’s Faraz Fatmi, son of former minister Ali Ashraf Fatmi.
