The sweeping victory of the NDA in Bihar has left the opposition stunned, with Madhubani district playing a key role in the mandate.
Out of the nine Assembly constituencies in Madhubani, the NDA secured eight seats, while the RJD managed to win only one – Bifsi.
Harlakhi: The Harlakhi Assembly constituency was won by JDU candidate Sudhanshu Shekher, who defeated Rajesh Kumar Pandey of CPI by a margin of 36,236 votes after 27 rounds of counting.
Babubarhi: JDU candidate Mina Kumari secured a decisive win, defeating RJD’s Arun Kumar Singh by 17,568 votes.
Bifsi: RJD candidate Asif Ahmed was the only winner from his party in Madhubani, defeating BJP’s Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul by 8,107 votes.
Madhubani: Madhaw Anand of RLM defeated RJD’s Samir Kumar Mahaseth, a former cabinet minister in the Grand Alliance government, by 20,552 votes.
Rajnagar: BJP candidate Sujeet Kumar convincingly defeated RJD’s Bishnu Deo Mochi by 42,185 votes.
Jhanjharpur: Former Industry Minister Nitish Mishra of JDU defeated CPI’s Ram Narayan Yadav by a margin of 54,849 votes.
Phulparas: Former Cabinet Minister Sheela Kumari of JDU defeated Congress candidate Subodh Mandal by 14,099 votes. Sheela Kumari had served as Transport Minister in the previous Nitish Kumar government.
Laukaha: JDU’s Satish Kumar Mandal defeated RJD’s Bharat Bhushan Mandal by 25,511 votes.
Benipatti: BJP candidate Vinod Narayan Jha won against RJD’s Nalini Ranjan Jha by 23,932 votes.
Khajauli: Arun Shankar Prasad of BJP defeated RJD’s Braj Kishor Yadav by 13,126 votes.
