The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to participate in the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) initiative. The agreement paves the way for C-DOT to establish a Centre of Excellence in Quantum Communication and Security Solutions at the upcoming AQV hub in Amaravati.
C-DOT, the research and development wing of the Department of Telecommunications, has been developing indigenous telecom technologies to serve national priorities. In recent years, it has taken the lead in developing quantum security tools that are already deployed in academic institutions, government R&D labs, and on live communication networks.
The Andhra Pradesh Government’s AQV initiative aims to build a complete quantum technology hub in Amaravati, bringing together hardware manufacturing, software development, research, and talent training under one ecosystem. With C-DOT’s participation, the centre at AQV will support research in quantum-secure solutions aligned with the National Quantum Mission.
The upcoming facility will also work on Privacy Enhancement Technologies to ensure compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection framework. The centre plans to develop cost-effective quantum communication components and build an integrated testbed to strengthen quantum cybersecurity capabilities.
