Government holds all-party meeting ahead of Parliament’s Winter Session

The Union Government convened a meeting of floor leaders from various political parties on Sunday in the Parliament House Complex ahead of the Winter Session. The meeting was chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and convened by Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.

The meeting was attended by 50 leaders from 36 political parties, including Union Health Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha J.P. Nadda, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan.

Singh welcomed all leaders and set the agenda for the discussion. Rijiju informed attendees that the Winter Session will be held from December 1 to December 19, offering 15 sittings over 19 days. He said that the government has identified 14 legislative and other business items for the session.

Rijiju added that the government is prepared to take up any issue raised by political parties, as per parliamentary rules. Leaders from multiple parties shared views on issues they intend to raise during the session and assured cooperation for the functioning of both Houses.

Singh and Rijiju thanked the leaders for their participation and feedback.
