Harsh Malhotra inaugurates Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025-East Delhi

Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways Harsh Malhotra on Thursday inaugurated the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025-East Delhi at the East Vinod Nagar Sports Complex. The event, a flagship initiative to promote grassroots sports and physical fitness, aims to nurture local talent and build a stronger sporting culture in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Patparganj MLA Ravinder Singh Negi, along with senior officials, athletes, and a large number of participants. Addressing the gathering, Malhotra underscored the need to strengthen India’s sporting ecosystem at the local level and encouraged youth to embrace sports as a way of life.

He emphasized the significance of physical fitness for all age groups while lauding the phenomenal participation of youth.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting sports, Malhotra referred to the Khelo Bharat Niti 2025, which aims to transform India’s sporting landscape and empower citizens through active participation. Quoting the ‘Five S’s of Sports’ – Speed, Stamina, Skill, Strength, and Spirit – he said that while all are important, “Spirit is the greatest of all.”

The Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025-East Delhi will feature 11 competitions across various disciplines including athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, wrestling, football, and other sports. Boys and girls from different age categories will participate, providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their abilities.

Malhotra announced that outstanding performers will be provided further opportunities and support to compete at district, state, and national levels, ensuring sustained encouragement for emerging talent.

The Minister appealed to schools, colleges, sports clubs, and local athletes to actively participate and make the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 a grand success, reinforcing the message that sports are as vital as education and culture in shaping India’s future.
