The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu from November 7 to 9 and over Kerala from November 8 to 10.
In the past 24 hours, isolated heavy rain was recorded in parts of southern interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
IMD defines heavy rain as rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm, very heavy rain as rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm, and extremely heavy rain as rainfall exceeding 204.4 mm.
The IMD reported that night temperatures have dropped below 10°C in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Temperatures are currently 2-5°C below normal in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, many areas of Rajasthan, northern Madhya Pradesh and northern Maharashtra. This below-normal temperature trend is expected to continue across the plains of northwest and adjoining central India for the next week.
In Delhi-NCR, mainly clear skies are expected from November 7 to 10, with mist, haze, smog or shallow fog during morning or evening hours.
On Friday, maximum temperature will stay between 25°C and 27°C, about 3-4°C below normal. Winds are expected to remain northwesterly, with afternoon speeds around 15 kmph, decreasing at night.
From November 8 to 10, maximum temperatures will range from 26°C to 29°C, while minimum temperatures will stay between 9°C and 12°C and remain 2-4°C below normal. Wind speeds are expected to vary between 5 and 15 kmph, predominantly from the northwest. Despite slight day-to-day variation, overall clear weather will persist, with morning smog or shallow fog likely throughout the period.
