The Indian Air Force (IAF) brought the skies of Guwahati alive on Sunday with a spectacular flying display over the Brahmaputra River, marking the ongoing celebrations of its 93rd anniversary.
The event, held at Lachit Ghat, drew large crowds as fighter jets, transport aircraft and helicopters performed a stunning aerial spectacle. Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya was the chief guest, while Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal Surat Singh, and several senior officers of the IAF and the State Government were also present.
The flying display encapsulated this year’s theme for the celebrations – “Infallible, Impervious and Precise” (“अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक”).
The display featured an impressive line-up of aircraft, including the indigenous Tejas fighter jet, Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, C-295 transport aircraft, and Hawk trainers. Spectators were thrilled by the daring aerobatics of the Harvard, Sukhoi-30, and Rafale jets, which demonstrated precision flying and combat readiness.
The performance concluded with mesmerising performances by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and the Sarang helicopter display team, whose synchronised formations and intricate aerial patterns left the audience spellbound.
