ECI | International Election Visitors’ Programme 2025

International Election Visitors’ Programme 2025 launched in New Delhi

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday inaugurated the International Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP) 2025 at the India International Institute for Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) in New Delhi.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioner Dr. Vivek Joshi interacted with the 14 participants representing seven countries—France, South Africa, Belgium, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Colombia—during the inaugural session.

Participants were provided with a demonstration of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and attended presentations by senior ECI officials on key aspects of elections in India, including preparation of electoral rolls and the overall conduct of elections.

As part of the programme, the visitors will undertake a two-day tour of Bihar from November 5–6, where they will visit EVM dispatch centres and witness polling in Phase-I of the Bihar Assembly elections on November 6.

The IEVP is a flagship initiative of the ECI aimed at promoting international cooperation and engagement with Election Management Bodies (EMBs) of other countries and international organizations. Since 2014, the programme has highlighted the strengths of India’s electoral system and shared best practices from the world’s largest democracy.
