Jaishankar calls for global zero-tolerance towards terrorism in talks with Israeli Foreign Minister

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar today reaffirmed India’s solidarity with Israel and called for a global zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations during his meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar in New Delhi.
 
Welcoming Sa’ar on his first official visit to India, Jaishankar said that the India–Israel partnership is based on mutual trust, reliability, and shared strategic interests. He emphasised that both countries face a common challenge from terrorism and underscored the importance of working together towards a collective global effort against it.
 
The Minister said that India and Israel have stood together in testing times and built a relationship marked by deep cooperation. He also welcomed recent developments in bilateral relations, including the conclusion of the Bilateral Investment Agreement and growing cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, economy, tourism, and finance.
 
Jaishankar highlighted India’s emerging capabilities in rail, road and port infrastructure, renewable energy, and health, and expressed interest in expanding business collaboration with Israel. He also noted that Indian workers are increasingly contributing to Israel’s economy under the mobility partnership and called for continued attention to their welfare.
 
The External Affairs Minister welcomed the return of hostages and the remains of those who lost their lives in recent conflicts and reiterated India’s support for the Gaza Peace Plan, expressing hope that it would pave the way for a lasting and durable solution in the region.
 
He also said that India and Israel share strong cooperation in fields such as innovation, semiconductors, and cyber technologies. Referring to the upcoming AI Impact Summit in India in February, Dr. Jaishankar invited Israeli participation in the event.
